Deep Ellum is one of Dallas’ most walkable neighborhoods. As a district that came of age in the street car era, Deep Ellum is not only wonderfully walkable but well connected by transit, bike facilities and offers many parking options. Explore ways to get into, around and out of the neighborhood!
Parking
Metered street parking, public lots and private garages are available throughout the neighborhood. Availability and rates can vary by block, time and event activity.
Daytime meter payment is now in effect
As of May 8, 2026, City of Dallas parking meters in Deep Ellum follow the City’s current paid-parking structure. Payment is generally required from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, although some blocks may have different or extended hours. The baseline meter rate is $1 per hour. Always follow the hours, rate, time limit and payment method shown on the meter, posted sign or ParkMobile app.
On-Street Parking
Metered spaces are available along Elm Street, Main Street, Commerce Street, Canton Street, Indiana Street and surrounding cross streets.
Pay using the method displayed on the meter or sign. Many locations accept ParkMobile.
City-Owned Lots
The City operates three public lots under or near I-345 along Good-Latimer Expressway.
- Weekdays, 5:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.: $2 per day
- Weekdays, 5:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m.: $5 per day
- Saturday and Sunday: $5 per day
Private Lots & Garages
Options include The Stack at 2700 Commerce Street, with an entrance on Henry Street, and The Epic at 2550 Pacific Avenue, with an entrance on Pacific Avenue.
Private rates vary and may increase during weekends or major events. Follow the operator’s posted payment instructions.
Rideshare
Uber, Lyft and Alto serve the Deep Ellum area. During busy evenings or major events, your app may direct you to a designated pickup or drop-off location to improve traffic flow and emergency access.
Confirm the pickup pin in your app and follow posted street signs. Your designated location may be a short walk from your destination.
Train & Bus
DART’s Green Line serves two stations in and around Deep Ellum:
- Deep Ellum Station, 450 N. Good-Latimer Expressway
- Baylor University Medical Center Station, 2900 Junius Street
DART also operates several bus routes through the district. Use the trip planner or GoPass for current schedules, fares and service alerts.
Bike & Scooter
Cyclists can enter Deep Ellum from Downtown using the Commerce Street bike facilities or from East Dallas using the Santa Fe Trail. The trail connects to the district near Elm Street and Canton Street.
Shared dockless scooters and e-bikes may be rented daily from 5:00 a.m. until 8:45 p.m. All rides must end by 9:00 p.m.
- Ride one person per scooter
- Ride with the direction of traffic
- Use bike lanes when available
- Yield to pedestrians
- Do not ride on sidewalks except when beginning or ending a trip
- Park in a designated corral whenever possible
