Dog-Friendly Spots in Deep Ellum

August 26, 2022 | Deep Ellum Team

As we look to cooler temps this fall, the urge to spend time outside for coffee, lunch, happy hour or dinner gets stronger. And it might even for your pup, too. Luckily, there are plenty of spots in Deep Ellum where you and your best bud can go throughout the day for drinks, food and more.

AllGood Cafe
2934 Main St.
Everything’s good at AllGood, and your pup will enjoy when she joins you on the patio. Go ahead, indulge in the full plate of chicken-fried steak. Princess won’t tell.

Armoury DE
2714 Elm St.
OK, so the menu here is phenomenal: you can’t go wrong with a meat and cheese board or any of the plates with a Hungarian accent. Not to mention the stellar bar program. But you can ALSO enjoy all this on their back patio with your pooch.

Barry Annino Bark Park
2530 Commerce St.
A neighborhood bridge for downtown and Deep Ellum, this urban dog park is a must visit. Take a ball to throw and meet some neighbors while your dog gets some exercise.

Backyard
505 N. Good Latimer Expressway
On the Good Latimer corridor is this pet-friendly concept, where you can play games and get plenty of food and drink with your dog at your side. It’s a great atmosphere for both of you on a bright, sunny day, playing a game of corn hole, ping pong, giant Jenga and more.

Cane Rosso
2612 Commerce St.
Cane Rosso recently revamped their patio, check it out with your furry best friend and dig into that excellent wood-fired pizza.

Cold Beer Company
3600 Main St.
Dogs are welcome on this patio where you can get a massive hot dog and a perfect wedge salad. This is also a stellar place to watch a game.

Dallas Comedy Club
3036 Elm St.
Yes, you can find excellent local and traveling comedy on stage here, but have you seen Dallas Comedy Club’s patio? It’s delightful, and you can enjoy refreshing cocktails with your doggo at your side.

Deep Ellum Art Co.
3200 Commerce St.
Art Co. has exhibits you need to check out on their walls at all times, and, of course, they have hundreds of live music concerts throughout the year. They’re also open Thursday through Saturday with drink specials — as is their large ArtYard, where your dog is welcome to join you.

Deep Ellum Brewing Company
2823 St. Louis St.
This is a long-time favorite for dog owners, where their dogs can join them on the welcoming patio where the humans can enjoy a flight of beer and seriously excellent tacos.

Dot’s Hop House & Cocktail Courtyard
2645 Commerce St.
There’s plenty of room for all your friends and all their pups in the outdoor space of Dot’s, where you get a massive beer list and a good menu.

Easy Slider
2701 Main St.
They only use certified Angus beef and the freshest farmer’s market produce. Bread is made fresh every day. Sauces are made in-house. And dogs are welcome on the patio.

The Free Man Cajun Cafe
2626 Commerce St.
Stopping here for lunch of ettoufee is always a good decision. But you know what makes that lunch break better? Taking your dog with you to the patio.

Harlowe MXM
2823 Main St.
The interior of Harlowe is beautiful, but sitting on the patio means your best furry bud gets to join you. You can’t go wrong with the brunch here, with a smoked brisket hash, croissant French toast shuffle and more.

Hibiki Sushi
2651 Commerce St.
Hibiki has a great menu, one with some good happy hour and lunch specials. Why not enjoy some sashimi and nigiri with your pup at your feet on the patio?

Mokah
2803 Taylor St.
There’s a little patio to the side of the front door of Mokah, and it’s even covered to where you can sit back and relax with your favorite pooch as you refuel with caffeine.

Monkey King Noodle Company
2933 Main St.
Yep, you can slurp up the delicious hand-pulled noodles of Monkey King while your dog does his best to politely beg at your feet. This patio is a perfect setting to grab lunch on a pretty day. And yes, if you’re thinking you’re already craving dan dan noodles, you are correct that you need them.

Joey trying to steal a Blinker at Murray Street

Murray Street Coffee
103 Murray St.
There are cute little tables outside of this 17-year-old coffee shop, where you can get perfect breakfast sandwiches, lunch and coffee. Sit on this sidewalk patio with your pup, just make sure to not let Fido steal your blinker (if he’s smart, he’ll try).

“Can I haz brisket?”

Pecan Lodge
2702 Main St.
There’s still frequently a line outside barbecue beloved Pecan Lodge. That’s for their excellent smoked meats, which you can also devour with your dog at your side on the patio.

Reno’s Chop Shop Saloon
210 N. Crowdus St.
It’s a great dive bar, it’s a go-to for live music and we all know about the karaoke on Wednesdays. And Reno’s on Crowdus is also a spot where you’r pup can join you for the fun.

Ruins
2653 Commerce St., Suite 120
Ruins has a lovely covered patio where you can settle in for a while with tasty tacos and drinks from an excellent beverage program. All while hanging with your favorite mutt.

Pete’s is already perfect. But dogs make it even better.

Yep, your dog is welcome with you on the patio of this Deep Ellum staple. Say hi to Pete, enjoy the perfect Greek salad and relax with your furry buddy as long as you like.

Tiki Loco
2639 Elm St., Suite 100
Have you seen the parklet that went up outside Tiki Loco over the summer? Co-owner Shawn Hodges built it to offer fun outdoor seating where your dog can join you. This vegan restaurant and coffee shop is a must-visit.

Thunderbird’s delightful Peel Out

Thunderbird Station
3400 Commerce St.
Here’s a patio where your doggo and you don’t have to wait for cooler weather. There’s some shade and more importantly misting fans that make a heck of a difference in keeping you cool. Plus there’s always cold beer in a frosted mug.

Dogs like the happy hour at Three Links, too.

Three Links
2704 Elm St.
Do you know how good Three Links’ happy hour is? And that it’s every day until 8 p.m.? And that you can find out how good it is with your pup by your side? Truth. You’re welcome.

Twilite Lounge
2640 Elm St.
We see the Dallas Observer has placed Twilite on its Best of Dallas list at least seven times for different categories: best new bar, best new venue, best place for a post-show drink and so on. But it also has a lovely back patio where you can enjoy the Manhattan Elliott perfectly made with your pet.

The Upper Paw
2809 Commerce St.
There’s a good chance you owe your best friend a treat or two, and you can get it here from dog treats to toys to booties to keep their paws safe.

Westlake Brewing Company
2816 Commerce St.
Grab a pint and sit outside on Westlake’s shaded patio. Staff takes care to bring out water for your fuzzy bud, too.

Whiskey Hatchet
2800 Canton St.
Your dog can’t do the ax-throwing thing, but he can get you a free seltzer. The covered patio is dog friendly, and there’s a Yappy Hour from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday: Bring your dog, and you get one free High Noon.
