Business of the Week: Patagonia

August 6, 2022 | Deep Ellum Team

Patagonia is finally celebrating its grand opening this weekend! The pandemic didn’t slow the store from opening and getting involved in the community, but to keep things safe they waited a bit for the big bash.

This weekend, they have a two-day event to celebrate. If you don’t stop by Saturday, here’s the rundown for Sunday:

  • Coffee Bar by The Rose Cart: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Sandwiches by Hugs Cafe: 1 to 6 p.m.
  • Chain Stitching by W Durable Goods: 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Live Music with DJ Leo J
  • Nonprofit Friends Tabling
  • Limited Quantity Patagonia Dallas Totes

Saturday, Bike Friendly South Dallas was there to get the cycling community together, something Patagonia staff are interested in developing further in Deep Ellum. You’ll see that’s even easier to do with the bike corral right outside their front door. Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association (DORBA) was there Saturday, too.

This was the second location in Texas for the brand — the first being in Austin — and it’s a large space on Main Street with more than clothes and gear. They’ve been doing some group bike rides, you can find them recruiting volunteers to help pick up trash and hosting educational and flat-out interesting presentations.

For instance, at 11 a.m. Aug. 20, they’ll celebrate National Honey Bee Day with a visit from friends at Texas Discovery Gardens, who will discuss honey bees and their impact. Jeni’s Ice Creams from across the street will bring their honey-vanilla bean ice cream for the event, too.

Eventually we’ll get out of this 100-degree weather, and getting outside will be oh-so-much-more attractive. Ready to gear up? Head to Patagonia to do so.

Patagonia is located at 2626 Main St. and is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
