Branding Contest $1500 Prize…
30th January, 2012
The phrase “Deep Ellum Texas” suggests the uniqueness of Deep Ellum as a place unto itself. And now we need a “Deep Ellum Texas” logo that reflects all that Deep Ellum represents.
Because Deep Ellum is a community brimming with artists, designers and creative talent, the Deep Ellum Community Association (DECA), in partnership with the Deep Ellum Foundation (DEF), is holding a “‘Deep Ellum Texas’ Branding Contest”, with the winner receiving $1500 in prize money (provided by DEF).
DECA has worked to unite the community under the "Deep Ellum Texas" banner. As an all-volunteer nonprofit, DECA has minimal budget for marketing, and must do so primarily through guerrilla marketing, such as the community website (www.deepellumtexas.com), Facebook (www.facebook.com/deepellum) and Deep Ellum merchandise such as T-Shirts, bumper stickers and other swag.
The winning logo for Deep Ellum Texas will be featured on all of these efforts plus other traditional and non-traditional medias. Judging will be by a panel composed of creative design professionals along with representatives of DECA and DEF.
To obtain entry information, send an email to media@deepellumtexas.com.
DECA will host a question and answer session at Mokah Coffee Bar (2803 Taylor St.) on Wednesday, February 1st, 2012 at 3pm and then again at 7pm.
Deadline for Submission is midnight on Sunday, March 4, 2012.
